PAD studio was commissioned to design a series of bespoke contemporary mobile dwellings, erected in the New Forest. These mobile dwellings conform to the 1968 Caravan Act and are capable of being lifted once built. The home floats above the wild landscape which features a large natural pond and long grasses. These air tight, highly insulated dwellings are constructed to PassivHaus standards, utilise local and natural materials in their construction and sit humbly within their surroundings. Solar PV will be incorporated and rainwater harvesting implemented. Efficiently planned with lots of natural light, the units appear much bigger internally than their restricted dimensions of 6.8m x 20m would suggest.
