It is envisaged that this building will assume a primary but complementary civic presence within Navan town. The sloping ground and the geometry of the site have contributed to the dynamic form of the building. The public rooms of the building, which face North and West, addressing the town, wrap the theatre space. The future Courthouse will occupy the top floor or attic level of the building. This level has independent access from 2 separate staircases. It also shares public access with the Arts Centre, facilitating the potential for overlap of use. The Civic Space occupies the Southern Edge of the site. This space forms the main entrance to the new facility. It also forms a set back and forecourt to the Library and addresses the Planning Office and Meath County Council Offices, It is envisaged that the Library users, together with all members of the community, will enjoy the cafe and exhibition facilities on a daily basis.
