Eburon Hotel, at the heart of Belgium's oldest town, dates back to the 14th Century, when it provided lodging for pilgrims heading south to Santiago de Compostela. PCP Architects, who also designed Carbon Hotel in Genk, were appointed to convert the former convent. Their approach was very different: where they used a dark palette and solid materials at Carbon Hotel, here they aimed to introduce colour and femininity. The exterior walls, fenestration and ceiling beams were preserved, but a light and vibrant interior was introduced.
