Oxford and Cherwell Valley College is a further education college with campuses in both Oxford and Banbury. ADP was commissioned to refurbish Block F at the Banbury site and create a new ‘Creative Industries and Skills Centre’. The layout of the existing building has been rationalised and a new central atrium formed. The circulation has been simplified by the creation of a full length corridors each side of the atrium on each level. From the new entrance users enter the new central core. This space together with the new entrance lobby will be used as a display, exhibition, break out and flexible teaching space. From the new corridors the teaching spaces can accessed. Due to the design approach the building is now very flexible in that all of the rooms can be divided up to create either large open spaces or smaller teaching spaces.
