Haworth Tompkins Architects designed this new theatre on the site of the 19th century Hope Hall. The 400 seat auditorium is a thrust stage design and constructed from the reclaimed brick of the original building. On the west facade, life sized portraits of ordinary Liverpool residents have been water cut into sheet metal sunshades to create an engaging piece of public art.
