JOHN MACLEAN
John graduated with a BA (Hons) in Photography and spent four years working in the Royal College of Art. As a freelance photographer, his work is specialized in the field of Architecture.
Photographs have become an indispensable currency of architectural exchange. The photographer is responsible for an act of interpretation where every image places itself on a line between distance and involvement, description and sensation. An architectural photograph cannot claim to provide "the whole picture", but a successful image can convey a valuable slice of the experience.
John's work has appeared in the following publications: The Architects' Journal, The Architectural Review, Blue Print, Design Week, DBZ (Germany), Elle Decoration, The Guardian and Time Out. Two books published: Cambridge (An Architectural Guide), and Edinburgh (A Guide to Recent Architecture).
